You must purchase the course access code (and optional printed textbook) prior to the start of the course. Textbooks are available using the link below and are not sold at the UCLA CPC Office. The correct versions of the books, packaged specifically for UCLA with our skills supplement are available from Jones & Bartlett's Public Safety Group:
Required: Premier Access code with e-textbook, FISDAP, and no-cost UCLA Supplement: The Jones & Bartlett EMT Premier Access Code provides access to the course website, online course materials, and an electronic version of the required textbook. The textbook is Emergency Care and Transportation of the Sick and Injured, 11th Edition, by AAOS. You will also need to purchase a FISDAP account, which is included in the links above. When purchasing the package at the link above, the required UCLA supplement will be included at no charge. You will receive an overview of the online system during class orientation.
Internet Access: Access to our course companion website will be distributed on the first day of class. You must have reliable internet access when attending the course.
Dress for ride along shifts: During the skills sessions in class and during the clinical phase, student must wear closed-toe shoes. When completing your ambulance or hospital clinical session, you must wear a plain white collared shirt (e.g., a polo or dress shirt with no insignias), black or dark blue slacks/medic pants, and black/dark closed-toe shoes.
