How much does the course cost?

The course is $2,275. This includes lecture materials, skills lab sessions, skills lab equipment, and the clinical rotations.

Are textbooks required for the course?

Yes. Phlebotomy Essentials by McCall and Tankersley, Seventh Edition, is available at Amazon.com.

Are there any additional items I will have to pay for?

You should prepare to pay for the additional items during the phlebotomy program:

  • Scrubs ($23.00 - $50.00) - The uniform for your clinical rotations and the skills lab will be discussed during the first day of class.

  • Parking at UCLA ($7.00 - $14.00) - pricing depends on the parking lot that you use for the course as well as your clinical rotations. Pricing is subject to change without notice.

  • Board exam fee ($125.00) - this is paid directly to the exam company at the end of the course.

  • State license fee ($100.00) - this is paid directly to the state of CA when you apply for your license.

  • Complio ($18) - Course medical prerequisites are collected using Complio, at a one-time cost of $18.

Does the Phlebotomy course offer a payment plan?

We offer payment plans for Phlebotomy courses scheduled at UCLA sites only. Please see our page on Payment Plans for more information. If you have any questions regarding payment plans, send an email to cpc@mednet.ucla.edu.

Does the Phlebotomy course offer federal financial aid?

Please note that the Phlebotomy course does not participate in Title IV Federal Financial Aid Programs. Students are highly encouraged to contact their own local credit union or bank and inquire about what private loan services they offer to members.

Will the Phlebotomy course accept my GI Bill® (Veteran’s Administration Assistance)?

The Phlebotomy course is not eligible to process Veterans Benefits. At our Center, only the Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic Education courses are approved for processing GI Bill benefits.

What is your refund policy and how do I request a refund?

Refunds must be requested at least 14 calendar days before the first day of class. Please see our page on Refunds & Transfers for more information.
