Pediatric emergencies require special skills and understanding. Make sure you are at the top of your game when it comes to leading these types of rescues.
You will learn critical assessment and treatment skills for youngsters experiencing cardiac emergencies, shock, and respiratory failure. This includes proficiency around intubations and obtaining vascular access in these patients.
You will be certified for two years upon successful completion.
We offer this course in two formats: In the online course format, you will complete didactic instruction online at your own pace, before coming to UCLA for a four-hour skills instruction session. In the traditional format course, all didactic and skills instruction is delivered in our classroom over two days.
If you have a current BLS certification and you would like to renew, you may take advantage of the BLS Recertification course we will conduct on the same day as our Online PALS courses. This option will be added to your shopping cart when you select PALS; you are welcome to remove it.
Students in the Traditional (classroom) course only must purchase the AHA PALS Provider Manual 2010, item number 90-1052,from Laerdal or WorldPoint prior to arriving at the course. Most courses are at our Los Angeles (Westwood) location.
