July 28 update: The American Heart Association has provided a 120-day grace period for cards expiring in areas affected by pandemic restrictions. For example, if your card expired in March, you are eligible to renew it via the standard recertification course through the end of July. For cards expiring in July, you may renew via recertification course through October, though we encourage you to renew sooner.
If you work in the healthcare field, this is a must-have course for you. (If you are a teacher, child-care provider, or simply want to be prepared to rescue someone experiencing a cardiac emergency, we recommend our Heartsaver CPR course.)
If your current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification has not expired and you need to recertify, we are once again able to offer you a shorter and cheaper recertification course. Please see our BLS Recertification course.
We cover infant, child and adult CPR, primarily for healthcare professionals. On top of this, you will take charge with hands-on CPR and Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) practice.
You will receive two years of certification upon successful completion of the course.
Required Textbook: The AHA requires each student to have a textbook. The online/hybrid courses include an online electronic text that meets this requirement. Students in the traditional classroom format course will see this book added to your cart, at a cost of $14.24. You may remove this item from your cart if you have this textbook and bring it to your course.
If you need to purchase this textbook after you enroll, it is AHA item number 15-1010, and is available from ShopCPR, the AHA online store.
