This Friday May 4, we're delighted to welcome four agencies recruiting UCLA Paramedic grads, and any other interested Paramedics! Recruiting activities will begin at 0800, with doors open shortly before.
The agencies include: Glendale Police Department, hiring SWAT Medics; AMR Santa Barbara; AMR San Bernadino; and Lynch Ambulance in Orange County. There are great features of each - please see their flyers below. AMR San Bernadino is offering $10,000 signing bonuses and is able to make conditional job offers right here next week. Lynch Ambulance uses Critical Care Paramedics for their operation in Orange County if you live down there, and would be a great place to use your full scope of practice that you learned here from Mr. Wheeler. And Glendale PD is interested in a few great folks for their Tactical Medic Program, which would be super cool if you are law enforcement minded.
In some cases, you need to complete the application ahead of time (see the flyers). Several will do interviews while they are here. In some cases, they may require a megacode (no problem after you just did skills testing!). We’ll have them each present to the class as a whole (Classes 57, 58 and 59 are here as well), then each operation will break out into our smaller rooms to conduct interviews and testing as needed. While we’ll need to move on with our instructional day by 0915, if you have an interview appointment with one or more companies, you are welcome to hang out until after your interview. Usually, the interviews are not longer than 30 minutes. They already know they want to hire UCLA grads; that’s why they are coming to you!
The UCLA Paramedic School is located at 5220 Pacific Concourse Drive, Los Angeles, CA (adjacent to the Airport Courthouse and just southwest of the 405/105 freeways). Parking is $10/day.
