Michael A. DiRaimondo Scholarship

The Michael A. DiRaimondo Foundation Scholarship was established in March of 2004 by Tony and Carol DiRaimondo to honor the memory of their youngest son, Michael. Sergeant Michael DiRaimondo served as an Army medic and hoped to work as a paramedic after his service. He was 22 when his helicopter was tragically shot down in Iraq in January 2004. Because their son was not able to realize his aspirations in life, his family wished to support other students with similar goals of becoming a paramedic.

This scholarship is administered by the Ventura County Community Foundation, a family of charitable funds whose mission is to promote and enable philanthropy to improve our community for good and for ever. Students may apply online at https://vccf.academicworks.com/. Applications should be submitted in mid-January, with funds available in the fall. The foundation may award up to three scholarships, in an amount up to $11,000. Please visit the Foundation's website for application details.
