The UCLA Paramedic Education Program has the distinction of being one of the first accredited paramedic programs in the United States, and one of the best paramedic programs in the world. As a graduate of the UCLA Paramedic Education Program, you will join an elite team of medical professionals saving lives and defining excellence in our field. The goal of the UCLA Paramedic Education Program is to prepare competent entry-level Paramedics in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, and/or Emergency Medical Responder levels.
We are one of the few accredited programs in the US offering part-time online paramedic courses, allowing students to participate in didactic instruction via interactive online modules, online instructional sessions, and on-campus skill labs. In addition to modules completed on your own time, you will join us for:
- Live online sessions on Monday and Wednesday each week from 7-10pm Pacific time.
- One day on campus every week as scheduled.
The meeting times for on-campus days are 8am-5pm. Didactic (combined online and on-campus sessions) for the hybrid course runs for 32 consecutive weeks. After completing the didactic phase, you will be in clinicals for about two months, and then in the field for about two months.
As a hybrid student, you will be learning from the same outstanding faculty as our traditional students. Our live online classroom and skills labs at our campus guarantee you plenty of "face time" with your classmates and faculty.
