Nurse to Paramedic Bridge Program at UCLA-Daniel Freeman

So why would a nurse want a paramedic license?
That's because Nurse-Paramedics are highly sought after as Mobile Intensive Care Nurses (MICN), radio nurses, flight nurses, and for nurse educator positions in the competitive field of fire department based EMS programs.

Make yourself more competitive for these lucrative and exciting career positions by expanding your nursing knowledge and skills into a Paramedic License in record time!  Instead of the usual 1,200 paramedic program hours you can complete the program in a much shorter amount of time by applying your experience and knowledge as a nurse.

Our program has a long history of working with nurses: it's been training Mobile Intensive Care Nurses (MICNs) since 1971.  Our paramedic program was established by Daniel Freeman Hospital in 1970 as one of the first training programs in the nation.  The program joined forces with the UCLA Center for Prehospital Care in 1999. And to this day, we are still the first accredited paramedic program in the country and recognized as one of the top programs in the nation.
