Los Angeles County has specific requirements to recertify your EMT certification depending on whether your certification has:
- not expired
- expired for less than 6 months
- expired 6 months but less than 1 year
- expired for more than 1 year but less than 2 years
If your certification has expired for 2 years or more, they require you to retake the EMT-Basic Course and meet all of the National Registry requirements - so do not let time get away from you!
This course meets the State of California Skills Testing Requirements for EMTs to recertify and the National Registry for EMTs (NREMT) skills requirements. The EMT skills training includes: Patient Assessment, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Cardiac Arrest Management, Airway Emergencies, Emergency Childbirth, Neonatal Resuscitation, and Neurological Emergencies. This exam is valid for one year.
Our EMT Refresher course meets all hour and skills requirements for the EMT to recertify if you are expiring within 6 months or expired for no more than 6 months.
