Marianne, a Walnut resident, became an emergency medical technician, then attended nursing school at Pasadena City College .

Her first hospital job was at Arcadia Methodist, where she spent eight years in the operating and recovery rooms.  She transferred to the emergency room 14 years ago.

Marianne has been a mobile intensive care nurse for 13 years and has taught many advanced cardiac life support, pediatric life support and new registered nurse programs.

She is a master instructor in diabetes education. Teaching this specialty to fire service and EMS personnel means a lot to her, as Nick, her 16-year-old son, was diagnosed with Type A diabetes at the age of two.

Marianne provides continuing education and quality improvement programs to the West Covina Fire Department and coordinates the QI program for the San Gabriel Fire Department.
