Jeff Pollakoff

Jeff is the Principal Instructor and Adult Education Specialist for our EMT basic classes.  He began working as an ambulance attendant in 1973, and later became certified as an EMT-1A.  His EMT certification led to work as a Communicable Disease Treatment Specialist / Health Educator at the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic.  Jeff continued his education and was certified as a Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic and was appointed as “Training Officer” for Medevac Ambulance Services.  Since 1991 he has retired from active paramedic status.  

Jeff received his California Adult Education teaching credential in 1989.  He has written numerous allied health and EMT core curriculums for the Los Angeles Unified School District, UCLA, and a number of private schools.  He has served on various Los Angeles County EMS Committees including Ethics, Curriculum Advisory, and Skill’s Advisory.  Jeff has also edited several EMT textbooks for major publishers including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and Brady Publishing. He also has several computer certifications and provides database-programming support to the Center.
