The UCLA Center for Prehospital Care was established as one of the few academic resources that combine education and research of prehospital and emergency medicine into one organization.

Since 1988, the Center continues to provide innovative state-of-the-art training programs and instructional technologies, conducts research and educates others to do the same, and provides analysis and insight into the development of emergency medical service systems.
